SECTION I: JOB PURPOSE
  • Develop communications activities intended to establish ongoing channel of communications across Abu Dhabi Ports and its businesses (KIZAD, Maqta Gateway, Cruise Terminal, Safeen, Logistics)
  • Work closely with the Internal Communications Manager to conduct annual internal communications initiatives that involve and engage all employees across the entire organisation and the multiple businesses
  • Create internal communications material and ensure all employees are kept informed, engaged and motivated through best practice internal communications activities: corporate messages, internal circulars, onsite bulletins, regular newsletters, staff intranet, townhalls and various employee events
  • Collate feedback on conducted internal communications campaigns, activities and organise surveys and focus groups to derive key insights and report to the Internal Communications Manager
  • Oversee procurement requisitions and ensure cost transactions and records of internal communications activities are maintained
  • Work with contracted communications agencies or embedded consultants to deliver internal communications activities
 
SECTION II: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop internal communications activities and ensure relaying the vision, goals and values across the organisation and for its multiple businesses through clear, consistent and informative corporate messages
  • Deliver internal communications annual campaigns and activities (working closely with the wider CMC team) to:
    • Translate the organisational/businesses’ vision, goals and values across all internal communications mediums
    • Build employee engagement
    • Foster an organisational culture of open, transparent and responsive communication
    • Protect the reputation of the organisation and its multiple businesses
  • Work closely with the wider CMC team to create synchronised campaigns and activities for the organisation and its multiple businesses
  • Formulate from end-to-end project plans for internal communications campaigns and corporate employee events
  • Align with the Operations & Planning function, internal CMC team and external teams to establish clear milestones, outline deliverables, responsibilities and budgets
  • Work with the contracted providers to deliver internal communications programmes and activities:
    • Develop or review content produced by the contracted communications agencies (i.e. presentations, newsletter, announcements, speeches, etc.)
    • Monitor key developments across the organisation to announce clear and up-to-date communications
    • Follow the defined crisis management protocols to manage and protect the reputation of Abu Dhabi Ports or its businesses
    • Ensure that all internal communications messages are aligned with external messages (i.e. key messages, company narratives, tone of voice)
    • Create internal communications surveys, organises focus groups and collate insights/learnings to report to the Internal Communications Manager
  • Create or review messages and speeches for senior leadership (in written or spoken form) for presentation to employees
  • Prepare presentations for organisational events
  • Responsible for reporting on budget spend against assigned projects
  • Prepare and maintain briefs, information, developed assets, approvals and reports pertaining to assigned projects
  • Oversee distribution and storage of assets produced for internal communications
  • Follow the set processes (for briefing, communicating projects and deliverables updates and reporting) as set by the Corporate Marketing Department

Technical Competencies:
  • Knowledge of creating internal communications messages and material
  • Experience in organising internal communications activities: campaigns, townhalls, team building initiatives, employee events, staff communications and intranet, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English) and proficiency in Arabic is a must
  • Strong copywriting, presentation and reporting skills
  • Basic project management ability and skills

SECTION III: KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Educational and Technical Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field is required
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office programmes
Language Skills:

Fluency in English and Arabic a must

Years of Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience that includes working within an internal communication department/unit/team
Nature of Experience:
  • Internal corporate communications and employee relations
  • Account manager/associate (combined agency and or client) experience
