My client are a well-established, global industrial automation company who due to growth and investment, are looking to add to their skill set by employing a Business Development Manager to assist with developing and managing relationships with designated strategic accounts.
The right person for this role will be an experienced Business Development Manager with knowledge and experience of the process industry to ensure they can effectively convey this knowledge to customers and sell the benefits of such products.

Location – Home-based working. Portfolio of accounts is based across the UK and will require occasional travel to site.

The right person for this role will be an experienced Business Development Manager with knowledge and experience of the process industry to ensure they can effectively convey this knowledge to customers and sell the benefits of such products.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the relationship between designated strategic accounts
- Formulate realistic annual and medium term business plans
- Achieve target level of sales activities in accordance with business development goals
- Develop essential industry and product knowledge to develop business accordingly
- Assist senior Management in developing new market opportunities
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the process industry
- Must have an Engineering qualification
- Strong consultative sales skills to provide automation solutions
- Confident in discussing ATEX principles
- Technical understanding of process protocol
- Demonstrable success in previous external sales positions
- Experience of selling into OEMs
- Instrumentation knowledge
- Understanding of PLC to field actuation architecture
- Familiar with SIL and understand it’s importance
