Our ‘Front End’ team is looking for an experienced Study Manager to support our current growth requirements and strengthen our early phase engineering consultancy team. With interesting new projects on the horizon for Q3, with projects around the world, it’s an exciting time to join the Front End team. 

The ‘Front End’ engineering department, consisting of experienced, multi-discipline engineering personnel within one of our ongoing studies is seeking to strengthen the team through the recruitment of an experienced Study Manager.


Responsibilities and Tasks:    

  • To create, check and approve project deliverables – as directed
  • Produce innovative, high-level engineering work on conceptual, FEED and detailed design projects
  • Provide a consultative role to internal and external clients
  • Provide supervision, guidance and direction to project teams. Ensure the project team understands the technical details and key features of the project to enable the team to deliver work efficiently and to the highest technical standards
  • Quality – ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the Company Quality Policy and procedures
  • Health, Safety & Environment – take personal responsibility and reasonable care of own safety and that of others. Work in accordance with training and instruction provided, reporting any shortfalls. Adhere to the requirements of the Company Health & Safety and Environmental Policies and report all incidents and accidents without delay
  • Business development – identify and bring to Front End Business Development manager opportunities to develop business within or beyond projects to which they are assigned
  • Proposals – assist Front End management in preparing proposals by providing technical expertise
  • Cost control – very good awareness of project CTRs and the general monitoring of actual project activity hours. Highlight any potential project time overrun to the Project Manager. Work to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the design process
  • Financial performance – responsible for assisting Lead Engineers and Project Managers to deliver results within specified targets

Qualifications / Personal Attributes:    

  • Degree qualified engineer. Chartered preferably
  • Minimum of 10 year track record in offshore process facilities design; fixed and floating facilities
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering early phase consultancy / studies (concept, pre-FEED, FEED) expertise
  • A hands on delivery approach & demonstrable ability to deliver efficient analytical solutions to engineering design tasks are essential 
  • Demonstrate identification of risk and mitigation management
  • Commercially astute; working knowledge of earned value analysis
  • Specific and detailed knowledge of oil and gas process systems, utilities, etc
  • Preparation of specifications to FEED / EPIC tender level of detail
  • Experience of field development planning & specialist experience (SME) would be an advantage
  • Client facing with excellent communication and presentation skills
