Construction Supervisor - Gas Gathering Systems JD - June 2019
Responsibilities
- Supervise all gas gathering systems construction activities and initiatives required to deliver the works.
- Responsible for the delivery of a gas gathering pipeline network scope of a to ensure the appointed Contractor and sub-contractors perform the work to the agreed scope of work, specifications and schedules all to an acceptable standard
- Supervise the contractor and sub-contractor personnel to ensure contractor performs all work to agreed standards for safety, health and environmental and attain high levels of HSE performance
- Ensure assigned scope of work is carried out without HSE incidents
- Ensure the work is carried out in time and in accordance with the scope of work, specification and quality requirements
- Lead and promote HSE awareness and ensure that all Project HSE requirements are implemented and adhered to
- Responsible for construction pipeline activities through the contractors supervision in respect of HSE, method, working practices, quality and timely execution of the works
- Advise pipeline Project staff on best practices
- Ensure that construction hazards and risks are fully considered by designers and contractors and that appropriate mitigation actions are implemented and appropriate action is taken
- To be fully familiar with the contractor's methods of construction, schedule and procedure
- Initiate and manage the pipeline project element of the continuous improvement processes
- Monitor site activities for potential contractual / claims problems in accordance with the contract
- Maintain records of site activities and check Contractor records for accuracy
- Supervision of QC inspection, surveillance witnessing of contractor activities associated with the works, ensuring records are maintained, including as-built data
- Produce and endorse daily and weekly progress reports.
- Detailing the work progress, number of contractor personnel and equipment available on site and other related resources identified in the scope of work
Skills / Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years post graduate experience in the Oil and Gas industry and pipeline construction
- Experience of EPCM contracts and management
- Good HSE awareness and commitment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good technical, team and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems
- Experience with contractors and/or Operating Companies, in particular, those involved in the construction of major Oil and Gas facilities
