MAIN FUNCTIONS The Complex Rail Supervisor oversees the rail switching, track
repair / Inspection, and rail car maintenance activities. Responsibilities include
optimizing the Yard and oversight of rail car storage areas. Works with the rail
coordination and switching groups to ensure accurate reliable rail services to the
Manufacturing group and ensures that all employees meet SH&E requirements and
promotes continuous improvement by guiding and motivating a diverse workforce. 1.
Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory standards for SH&E
requirements through the execution of safety programs, Operation Integrity
Management Systems, and the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP-STAR). 2.
Ensure compliance to FRA regulations if necessary. 3. Oversee track maintenance and
inspection program. 4. Supervise the activities of switch crews throughout complex. 5.
Oversee railcar maintenance activities. 6. Assist rail coordinators with switch list
creation and proper Yardmaster utilization 7. Ensure timely reliable service to complex
manufacturing racks 8. Ensure work assignments are consistently performed in
accordance with applicable procedures 9. Interface with Rail Road to ensure accurate
and timely service 10. Represent ARM in daily production meetings 11. Ensure a safe
work environment for all Rail personnel through assisting in contractors “tool box”
safety meetings and execution of all safety, environmental & health programs.
Specific Job Requirements/Skills
1. Experience with Railroad and Supply Chain activities a benefit 2. Mechanical
knowledge/skill 3. Leadership and communication skills 4. Support a team approach
and have ability to motivate 5. Plant operational experience preferred
