System Project Manager – Remote Vehicle Data - Contract – West Midlands

One of the leading international automotive suppliers is looking to add to their remote vehicle data division (RVD) with an experienced systems project manager who can lead teams across different functions for the RVD platform which is the foundation for innovative connected services.  

Remote vehicle data is fully integrated into the clients modular cloud approach for connected service solutions, providing end to end solutions of connected services. As Systems PM you’ll be managing the development of a complex software project, overseeing and coordinating multiple third parties in the UK and Europe to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage and report progress of the development process to achieve objectives
• Assign work segments to the development project team
• Plan and resource effectively (staff, test equipment, materials) to achieve the project activities in the development process
• Coordinate system development reviews and regular development project meetings
• Act as PM on system level development project
• Ensure all project objectives (time schedule, budget and quality) for the development project are met
• Project planning and time-schedule definition in line with customer requests
• Track the project progress and define the corrective measures if it deviates from the plan
• Perform change management and issue management
• Actively manage stakeholder expectations
• Build up and supportive culture of cooperation and teamwork with the project
• High and strong interface with the validation team

  Essential

• University degree in Engineering or comparable professional qualification
• Experienced in managing the co-ordination of tasks related to software implementation in the automotive industry
• Cloud based solution experience, smartphone applications and in vehicle devices
• Excellent leadership qualities and skills
• Knowledge of project management processes and automotive standards
• Experience of agile development processes (Kanban, Scrum)
• Experience managing multiple international and remote teams
