Role: Senior Highways Design Engineer

Location: Hertfordshire

Are you an experienced Senior Design Engineer with a background in design and implementation of Highways schemes? Are you looking for an opportunity to join a highly successful Design team within a Prestige brand within the Civil Engineering market?

Within this newly created position, my client is looking to bring in an experienced Design Engineer to take responsibility for the design and specification writing of roads and associated works.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of earthworks design, construction and testing for roads and be familiar with working in accordance with DMRB.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:

• Production, review and submission of design for Schemes.
• Ensuring Task Orders are managed and dealt with.
• Ensuring stakeholder approval for all design works.
• Support the delivery of the annual schemes budget.
• Promote a culture of delivering continual efficiencies and reducing costs.
• Maintain strong shareholder relationships.

Essential:

• You will probably be a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with at least 2 years post qualification experience.
• You will demonstrate extensive experience and expertise in road and infrastructure design coupled with road construction site experience.
• Your experience will include liaising with highways authorities and the Environment Agency.
