Wells Cost Controller
Job Description
- Wells Cost Controller is responsible for planning, development, tracking, analysis and reports on
- drilling/completion/work over (Wells) projects costs / AFEs and checking and approval of invoices
- associated with the execution of well projects. Ensures operational and project expenditures are
- effectively managed, controlled and monitored

- accountabilities
- The primary responsibilities of the Wells Cost Controller are:
- Manages month?end well accruals, which are calculated and posted onto Company
- existing cost control system and SAP in future
- Checks and maintains daily Wells operational forecasts
- Reviews variance analysis against budget/previous forecasts
- Seen as the first point of contact for all Wells accounting requests
- Oversees the production of Wells costs for the Company management
- Verifies invoices, which includes coding, contract compliance, checking against contract,
- commitment, budget levels
- Provides operational supervision to Accounts Payable Analyst for resolving complex
- dispute invoices, by close interaction with Wells team and vendors
- Organizes and participates in regular Inventory/stock checks at all locations where stock
- is held (including third party storage)
- Presents Company?operated Wells accounting status to internal management and partners
- Supports the Finance Manager in managing finance related matters emerging on
- interfaces between the Wells department, Finance department, Company management and Board of Directors
Personal Specification
- Bachelor degree in Financial discipline and Master's degree would be an asset.
- In?depth knowledge of Drilling/Completion/Workover Accounting ? Minimum 4 years
- relevant experience
- Experience with SAP and financial accounting (FI) modules
- Good understanding of drilling equipment and Well delivery processes
- Solid forecasting and arithmetic skills
- Knowledge/understanding of stock, inventory control and management
- Comfortable working strategically as well as tactically
- Proven project management skills
- Proven commercial awareness
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience in Planning and Project Management
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement
- A self?starter, innovative and able to identify priorities, willing to take up new tasks
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritize work
- Strong networking, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
