Lonza is leading name in industrial pretreatment and surface protection of wood, and a trusted supplier for the world’s largest agricultural companies with a wide range of offerings, such as custom manufacturing of active ingredients and agrochemical intermediates.

Lonza are currently seeking an EHSQ Advisor in a permanent role within a Major Hazard Facility (MHF) within Otahuhu to support the day-to-day operational supervision of EHSQ elements at their Auckland site and at times to other Lonza sites.  You will be responsible for maintaining and coordinating the internal quality assurance program activities and to work with operations to lead and ensure implementation of the internal EHSQ Management System.  You will be working closely with Lonza’s other EHSQ members within their NZ & Australian operations and you will be reporting directly through to Lonza’s EHSQ Manager for APAC.

Other key responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Working collaboratively with site manager to ensure EHSQ is consistent across Lonza’s operations
  • Ensuring the prevention of work related injury or illness through the provision of effective behavioral based safety process and hazard identification systems
  • Leading the safety culture change with interpretation analysis, motivation and the education of staff members
  • Lead the effective EHSQ integration relationships with key internal and external parties to ensure business needs and objectives are achieved.
You will ideally have MHF experience or safety case knowledge or having the confidence to learn and develop in these areas.

You will hold a relevant EHS qualification, and you will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within the chemical, oil and gas or related industries with proven experience in leading others directly or indirectly to manage change process.
