Senior Value Add Tax Analyst
- Location: Muscat, Oman
- Start: ASAP
- Permanent staff role
- Salary: Negotiable
- Promote awareness of VAT across the company, influencing and managing stakeholders' expectations relating to VAT. Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
Conduct tax preparation and filings on a timely manner, perform tax reviews and consolidate supporting documents in order to ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
Conduct monthly reconciliation's and analysis of VAT accounts and journal entries to minimize companys exposure.
Advise management and accounting teams on VAT compliance and associated accounting issues.
Manage VAT audits and answer ad hoc queries with tax authorities about tax filings and payments.
Supervise the maintenance of VAT rates and codes within the ERP system. Support IT solutions to ensure accurate reporting and to identify system / process enhancements.
Monitor VAT law updates and/or business changes to assess impact.
Develop and mentor Accounting / Finance professionals in the area of taxes. - Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
Minimum 10 years in Accounting or Finance experience in the Oil & Gas industry
Minimum 3 years experience in VAT accounting, filling and reporting
Extensive experience interfacing with an ERP system such as Oracle or SAP
Must be self- motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Advanced MS Excel skills
