Role: Senior Commercial Manager - Civil Engineering

Salary: £90,000 to £100,000 plus excellent package.

Location: M4 Corridor

Are you an experienced Senior Commercial Manager with a history of successfully delivering prompt financial completion of Civils projects? Are you looking for an opportunity to join a Regional Business Unit with exciting prospects within a Tier 1 Contractor? Then a role within a Market leading Contractor could be for you.

My client is looking to recruit an exceptional Commercial Manager with strong leadership credentials to Manage a team whilst providing advice on Bid submissions and Tender documents. Strong Multi-stakeholder engagement will be key to this appointment as will experience of managing challenging Contracts.

The successful candidate will come from a Contracting background with a breadth of Civil Engineering experience and have in depth knowledge of the NEC, ICC and NR7 Contracts. You will support Regional Business Units in two office and must be prepared to travel to Project sites.

Your duties will include:

• As the senior commercial resource you will directly support the Operations Director in the Business Unit.
• Responsible for the commercial assurance of the projects under management.
• Working with procurement surveyors to ensure that subcontracts are placed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
• Providing commercial assurance of project margin performance through accurate forecasting and identification of issues giving rise to commercial risk.
• Management of commercial performance, cashflow, margin management (commercial value creation) and commercial risk on allocated projects.

• This is a management position for an individual with the business acumen to develop commercial opportunity on projects.
• The individual should have proven experience in their ability to lead, influence and communicate with others.
• Be able to demonstrable experience across a breadth of Civils Sectors.
• The individual will have appropriate qualifications, and professional membership is desirable.
• Ability to operate successfully in a commercial environment and previous experience of managing project commercial performance is necessary.
