The Role: Senior Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Oversees, monitors, reviews and endorses contractor and vendors’ structural design engineering of subsea structures, platform substructure and topsides, and modification to the existing facilities to ensure they are safe to construct and operate, ease of maintainable and in compliance with the codes, standards and project specifications. Assists in-house engineers and contractors in the resolution of technical issues and problems associated with structural engineering. Stewards and evaluates the closing and reporting of structural engineering issues including design reviews, risk assessments, interface with other departments, etc.
- Coordinates, monitors, reviews and endorses contractors’ procurement of structural items and bulk materials ensuring that the items/materials are in compliance with codes, standards and project specifications. Liaises with contractors to expedite the delivery of the materials to meet the field required dates.
- Oversees, monitors, reviews and endorses contractors’ fabrication, installation and hook-up & commissioning work procedures, drawings, work & test packs and work activities to ensure that the works are being carried out safely and in accordance with the approved drawings and specifications. Witness and endorses of the field test results when necessary.
- Interfaces and coordinates within Company’s project team and other discipline engineers on matters relating to engineering design, procurement, fabrication, offshore installation, brownfield construction and hook-up & commissioning of the offshore and onshore facilities.
- Interfaces and liaisons within Company, contractors, subcontractors, and equipment vendors on all structural issues that impact the project implementation.
- Participates in internal and external project meetings, reviews and disseminates minutes of meeting and information pertaining to the issues discussed.
- Liaises with work site and quality personnel to ensure the structures are constructed and tested to the requirements of the standards, specifications, drawings and procedures.
- Provide inputs to the project management team for the compilation of reports, presentations, audits, assessments, etc.
Requirements:
- Degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable university.
- Registered or be able to register as a Professional Engineer in the host country.
- Minimum 20 years of work experience of which at least 15 years must be in the upstream offshore oil & gas industry.
- Must have good hand-on experiences associated with engineering design, onshore fabrication, offshore installation, brownfield construction, hook-up and commissioning of subsea and topsides structures and systems.
- Must possess strong drive, motivation and with good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision, good in both oral and written communication skills, and be able to chair internal and external meetings.
- Candidate must be well versed with the industrial structural codes and standards.
- Willingness to travel and relocate to work sites including offshore
