Electrical Engineer (Furnaces)

Are you looking for a new contract assignment working with an international client cross various locations in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America?

My client is looking to recruit a number of electrical engineers assisting their clients in various locations as electrical engineer and project leader. The suitable candidate would be assisting with various aspects including but not limited to erection, commission and maintenance of furnaces:

• Erection activities regarding to mechanical, electrical & automation issues, deal with subcontractors, organise tasks.
• Commissioning activities regarding electrical, automation, programming in PLC Siemens Step7, troubleshooting, etc.
• Designed functional analysis, instrumentation list, process & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and all technical documentation which applied to project in coordination with Project Manager
• Client liaison to discuss advance of project, issues, requests, delays, activities out of original scope of work, etc.

The suitable candidate will be handling equipment;

• Hydraulic equipment: check the operation of the electric elements described in the functional analysis (conditioning pumps, main pumps, directional control valves, proportional valves, pressure switches, level indicators, etc.
• Checking the movements of the different machines of the furnace (charging/discharging machine, walking beams, charging/discharging doors) in auto mode
• Set other instruments of the handling equipment: lasers and cells, encoders
• Check and adjust the complete sequence of operation of the furnace (all machines together)

As well as heating equipment

• Calibration of the instruments (relative pressure transmitters, differential pressure transmitters, pressure switches (low and high), temperature transmitters, flow switches, level detectors, flow meters, proportional valve, shut-off valves, etc.
• Test the operation of the safeties related with the heating equipment (heating general conditions)
• Tuning the different control loops of the furnace (combustion air pressure, furnace pressure, dilution air, hot air bleed, by-pass, gas pressure, HFO, etc)

The rate for the position is negotiable dependent upon experience. Assignment lengths are between 1-2 months dependant upon the project and to be mobilised to various sites across the clients network.
