A leading worldwide Oil & Gas operator is looking to recruit an Engineering Technologist on a long-term contract / consultant basis in Algeria

Job Summary
·This position is located in Hassi Messaoud, Algeria as a member of the Subsurface team.
·The position is responsible for the automation, maintenance, improvement, cleaning, and manipulation of data in the Subsurface team's operational and analytics databases.
·The position works closely with Production Engineers, Stimulation Engineers, Reservoir Engineers, and Production Technicians in order to understand and execute the implementation of data solutions and troubleshoot issues in the current software ecosystem.
·The position also plays a key role in the development and deployment of innovative data platforms for advanced analytics and data processing, building the data pipelines that will enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the business.

Qualifications
·Experience in a data analysis role.
·Experience in an Engineering support role within the Oil & Gas industry would be an advantage but is not essential.
·IT expertise specialized primarily in software development
·Proficiency with data mining, mathematics and statistical analysis
·Robust knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications, specifically Excel, SQL language, Oracle and SQL Server
·Experience Programming with VBA, .Net (C#, VB.Net)
·Experience using visualization/BI platforms such as Spotfire
·Experience using reporting solutions such as Crystal Report or Active Reports
·Demonstrated ability to learn new applications quickly and apply new technologies to solve business problems
·Self-motivated individual with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
·Strong organizational skills and interpersonal communication skills.
·Demonstrates initiative through interpersonal and leadership skills
·Ability to influence others and lead small teams
·Takes initiative to maintain and increase technical and working knowledge.
·Seeks feedback from management and other involved disciplines.

Education
·Bachelor's degree in Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field preferred.
