Roles and Responsibilities as Major Maintenance Cost Controller
- Track and analysis of actual cost and accrued cost daily by Purchase Order for all Major Maintenance jobs against Control Budget
- Embed and maintain in Company and Contractor processes; Commitment capture, VOWD (Value of Work Done), Cost forecasting/phasing and Earned Value consistent with the company procedures
- Provide cost input to the Change Management process and prepare/track/log project change notices. Review change conditions in order to quantify the impact and communicate to Major Maintenance supervisor of cost impact of proposed design or construction changes
- Finalize monthly Latest Estimate for Major Maintenance NECC and Added jobs. Submit monthly report to Finance to align forecasting cash flow and project Estimate At Completion
- Assist in summarizing and preparation of lessons learned and communicating to Major Maintenance Group
- Prepare, monitor and analyze weekly PF report for major contractors
- Prepare monthly Labor Force Report for Track and non-Track vendors
- Updated weekly one-pager for Major Maintenance jobs for management review
- Assist in WO closeout tasks; conducting post project analysis and preparing final cost summary to planners for future reference
- Develop and update work flow diagrams and procedures as needed
- Coordinate with Major Maintenance Manager, Finance, CP, Scheduler, Planner and Field Leads for any critical issue with project cost, scope and physical progress
- Participate in kickoff meetings to understand budget breakdown, schedule and execution strategy
- Review monthly cost reports and progress updates provided by contractors. Coordinate monthly meetings to review Purchase Order status and change notices
- Participate in the continuous improvement and implementation of standardized work processes for effective cost control
