Public Transport Reform Specialist - Ethiopia

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/ Team Leader & Public Transport Policy Expert for an institutional reform study in Ethiopia.

Opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity to carryout a detailed study and make recommendations to improve the Public transport network including road, bus & rail in the capital Addis Ababa to meet the growing demands of an efficient, sustainable, reliable, affordable, environmentally safe and user-friendly manner.

Project Objectives

• Assess current public transport system & structure including relationships between formal and informal transport operators
• Identify challenges and gaps in the current Public Transport Services
• Propose alternative models of institutional reform options including integration among operators.
• Develop a Public Services Contract (PSC) template
• Study subsidy in Public Transport provision & implementation
• Propose Policy for Mass Transit systems.
• Establish Public Transport asset management strategy.
• Strategy to promote Women's role in Public Transport Workforce.

Key requirements for the role:

• Degree or Masters in Urban Transport Planning, Road & Transport Engineering/ Management or related subject)
• 12 years experience, 8 years on Public Transport Management projects or similar
• 5 years as Team Leader or Project Supervisor
• Regional Experience would be beneficial
