MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Pipeline Electrical Engineer focuses on the development of the electrical discipline activities performed by the Engineering and Procurement (E&P) Contractor during the FEED and Detailed Design for the pipeline and compressor station scope of work, including equipment selection, design, installation, commissioning, and start-up planning. The role includes the following functions:
- Ensures that the Project's requirements are detailed in the Technical Specifications and ensures that the equipment and systems are engineered, designed, and purchased consistent with the Job Specification and Regulatory requirements
- Provides engineering oversight of the Contractor and equipment supplier teams such that the work arrives within project budget and schedule
- Facilitates interfaces among the Discipline Leads, the Contractor and the equipment supplier’s organizations with respect to equipment package issues.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities shall include the following:
- Responsible for all equipment and facility electrical design
- Participate in technical specification preparation and Hazard and Operability Reviews (HAZOP)
- Participate in packaged equipment related FAT's as required
- Responsible for equipment and general arrangements for plot plan layout and design reviews
- Coordinates the review of all Contractor and equipment supplier deliverables and responsible for providing and coordinating Company comments for the discipline
- Reviews the RFQ and PO for all discipline equipment to ensure compliance with the Job Specifications, contractual requirements, and all regulatory requirements
- Stewards Material Handling reviews
- Provide support to site construction and completions teams and to operations during startup
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Broad and extensive knowledge of:
- Design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
- Industry best practices, processes, and expectations with respect to discipline engineering
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in engineering
- 8+ years of closely related professional experience, 3+ years of which should be at the senior project engineering level, and experience carrying out detail design activities in a Contractor’s office
- Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
