Our UK Quality Surveillance Hub based in Aberdeen, is responsible for inspection of products at supplier site to ensure that quality requirements are adhered to. This includes expediting activities and documentation review.
In order to strengthen our team, we require an experienced machining inspector who will be based at a supplier in the Newcastle/North East of England on a 12 months contract.
We are looking for an experienced QS Inspector with machining and fabrication experience.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
- To carry out inspection duties at suppliers or sub-contractor sites when required as per company requirements
- Ensure all verification documentation stamped and signed where required
- This particular job function will be the focal point for Quality Surveillance Inspection relating to specified project or work scope
- Review all relevant documentation prior to inspections
- Ensure that Inspection Reports are uploaded in a timely manner to QSS
- Create QS NCR’s where required and advise suppliers if a Technical Query, Deviation or Concession is to be submitted
- Communicate any deviations found during inspections to responsible buyer and other relevant personnel
- Focal point for supplier base to assist with any inspection queries or issues; provide assistance to ensure compliance with Aker Solutions requirements
Qualifications / Personal Attributes:
- Team play; ability to communicate at all levels of business
- Ability to work to a high specification in order to improve and maintain quality
- Understanding of quality requirements and ability to adhere to these
- Understanding of engineering documentation
- Focus on results and willingly tackle problems or conflicts which threaten their achievement
- Customer focused
- Pro-active in problem solving but knows when to seek guidance form wider business
- Ability to build positive working relationships
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel
