Open Pit Mine Electrical Co-ordinator

Working for our well established client in Central Africa,on you will be an experienced Open Pit Electrical Co-ordinator with experience of underground and open pit mines

Responsibilities:-

  • Conduct and carry out preventative maintenance for dewatering electrical systems, low and medium voltage substations and power distribution overhead lines
  • Write standard operating procedures for the electrical department as needed
  • Identify and upgrade substandard electrical installations for LV, MV Substations and Pump Stations
  • Installation of dewatering pumps
  • Initiate work orders using AMT system
  • Conduct daily work area inspections & report any faults/breakdowns & action them in a timely manner
  • Lead, train and mentor a team of electricians, including electrical helpers

Professional Qualification/Experience Required

  • Electrical Engineering Diploma or electrical trade qualification is required
  • High Voltage certification
  • Experience with ABB Variable Speed Drives, ABB and WEG Soft Starters, Siemens PLCs, ABB & Siemens MV Protection Relays preferred
  • Minimum 10 years working experience in mining electrical
  • Strong practical hands on skills in electrical maintenance associated electrical power systems distribution, power systems protection for Low and Medium Voltage, Overhead Power lines and dewatering systems
  • Open Pit Mining & Dewatering Electrical installations, commissioning and maintenance experience
