My client has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant, within their Business Unit located in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK.  This role will be a key member of the Financial Accounting team, providing a central finance function for all finance activities business units and its subsidiaries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Assisting with the preparation of our group companies month end management accounts and control files in a timely and accurate manner, for review by the Financial Accounting Manager and Head of Accounting Services;

•Cost review and analysis to include explanations for variances to budget and prior periods and additional analysis post month end;

•Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including Trade Debtors and Creditors; 

•Intra-group recharges calculations and invoicing

•Responsibility for monthly intercompany agreements, including final submission to Corporate

•Dealing with various ad hoc queries and requests for information;

•Revenue review and variance analysis; Knowledge of TC, PLC and CAPEX preferred

• Involvement in weekly sales flash preparation;

• Manage the CAPEX process for the group companies, including assisting with capex request form completion; budget setting; tracking spend; and cost-benefit analysis to ensure success of projects;

• Ownership of at least one company’s VAT returns Intrastat and EC sales with submission due quarterly;

• Liaising with Auditors and submitting lead schedules at year end, ensuring agreed deadlines are met;

• Assisting with both financial and audit requirements;

• Helping maintain user access in Sage and WAP

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

·  CIMA / ACCA part-qualified;

· Experience, 3 years minimum, working within a Finance department

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·  Experienced user of SAGE 200 and Hyperion HFM is desirable;

·  Advanced knowledge of Excel, to include v-lookups, complex pivot tables and SUMIFS etc;

·  Previous use of Sicon WAP (Web authorisation Processor) an advantage
