We are pleased to be supporting the operators of a new build power plant who are to manage an advanced thermal treatment EFW plant located in Hertfordshore. Based on this current workload and planned future projects, they are setting up a permanent Engineering Team to be based at the site to ensure that all operational plant equipment is running safely, efficiently and cost effective using both proactive and reactive maintenance methods.
We are currently looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician who shall be responsible for all aspects of the balance of plant electrical and assist with any other work as may be required.
Typical duties for the Electrical Maintenance Technician as follows
To ensure plant electrical systems are maintained to all applicable standards, achieve maximum plant availability, compliance with all applicable legal and contractual requirements.
To adhere and work to standard Jobplans , Method statements, Work instructions, Procedures, Risk Assessments , Safe Systems of Work in the IMS.
Work closely and collaborate with operation Shift Team Leaders, other discipline engineers and contractors.
Carry out fault diagnosis on electrical, control equipment, effect immediate repairs and maintain accurate maintenance records using the site maximo CMMS.
To carry out risk assessments, method statements, provide self supervision , manage and direct on site contractors when required.
To analyse persistent plant breakdowns and suggest cost effective and efficient solutions or plant improvements .
To optimise existing online, offline and none intrusive predictive maintenance systems and with support from the Engineering Manager, plan proactive maintenance regimes on plant.
To develop and manage PAT equipment register and work to maximo PPM plans to ensure equipment fitness of purpose and compliance with applicable legal requirements at all times.
To be responsible for the cleaning, safety of workshop equipment and implementation of 5S methodology at all times. < br>
To commit to continuous self development and attend all company identified training
Qualified to HNC/HND/ Equivalent as a minimum in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering.
Working Time
In addition to general terms and conditions, the Electrical Maintenance Technician role is full-time permanent, 40hours per week and take part in out of hour's emergency standby rota. And all overtime work shall be in accordance with the working time directive.
A generous basic salary for the Electrical Maintenance Technician will be accompanied by ‘On-call’ payments when on rota, with any duties performed on call paid at a 50% uplift.
