Senior Electronics Engineer – Reading – 6 month contract
A global oil and gas company have developed a specialist team that will manufacture and supply oil cell technology to the automotive market. The company are looking to add to their skill set with an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer from an automotive background.

Location – Reading, UK
A global oil and gas company have developed a specialist team that will manufacture and supply oil cell technology to the automotive market. The company are looking to add to their skill set with an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer from an automotive background.
Responsibilities
- Developing the embedded electronics and supporting system level electrical installations
- Electronics architecture design, implementation, test planning, testing, integration and software.
- Act as the Functional Safety Manager
- Design and organise testing activities relevant to projects including set up and use of test rigs
- Apply engineering science to inform designs and perform root cause analysis of design failures
- Maintain and use failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA)
Essential
- Degree educated in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer science, Software Engineering or relevant degree
- More than 6 years’ professional experience within an electronics or embedded systems testing environment
- Must have good working knowledge of ISO26262
- Willing to travel globally to support the programme
- Experience managing external parties, monitoring development progress, ensuring on-time delivery
- Experience working with electronics CAD software
- Ability to fault diagnose automotive systems and electronics interface issues (CAN, RS232, LIN etc)
Desirable
- C/C ++ Embedded programming and debugging experience
- Assembly language
- Altium Designer or Cadence Design experience
- Motor drive experience (DC and BLDC)
- LabVIEW
- Windows / PC programming
- Python / other scripting languages
- Visual Studio C++ / C#
