A well established high end residential refurbishment contracting company is now looking to recruit a commercially astute and talented Senior Quantity Surveyor. Schemes are typically in the £1m- £8m range.
The Role:
The position will involve commercial management of a number of projects including managing all procurement, valuation, contractual and commercial issues and formulating strategies for control of the projects and enhancement of final margins.
Ensuring effective management of main contract and subcontract accounts through to final account including ensuring proper procedures are in place for preparing interim valuations, identifying and valuing variations, dealing with contractual matters, extension of time claims and any disputes that may arise.
Managing production of internal management reports including cost value reconciliations, profit plans and cash flow projections at regular intervals.
Working alongside the senior management staff to control and manage all issues on the projects including advising on how best to minimise risk and maximise opportunities that may arise.
Liaison with the Client’s representatives on all matters relating to the contracts and the procurement and valuation of work and ensuring that relationships with those external consultants are maintained and enhanced throughout the life of the projects.
The Person:
Must have a proven track record of completing jobs successfully including satisfying Clients needs and producing expected margins.
An ability to form effective working relationships with staff and with external consultants, subcontractors and suppliers will be essential.
