We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world- wide client base within the Oil & Gas Industry.

Our client, a major Oil and Gas operator, has a contract opportunity for an HSE Professional for a 8 on/ 6 off – 12 hrs per day shift for a 2 month contract. Camp based fly in/ fly out position


Qualifications: 

  • 5 + Years of experience required in an oil and gas production facility, with focus on SAGD operations. 
  • Turnaround experience 
  • Effective communication (written and spoken) with an ability to influence and motivate peers and leaders 
  • Detailed knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation 
  • Strong computer skills 
  • Investigation leadership skills
Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture where worker safety is paramount 
  • Represent EHS in the highest professional manner (lead by example to visibly demonstrate EHS leadership and commitment) 
  • Develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of  EHS management system and framework which identifies minimum standards to be met on worksites 
  • Promote All-in EHS attitude 
  • Provide timely advice and interpretation on legislation/practices to Site Representatives 
  • Act as liaison with other EHS Services
  • Propose actions for improvement to safety performance 
  • Promote Hazard Identification & other leading indicator reporting programs 
  • Build relationships with Site Representatives and workforce leaders to promote a positive safety culture 
  • Support Site supervisors with auditing contractor compliance to alcohol and drug protocol pre-placement expectation 
  • Support & promote EHS communication (EHS performance reports, bulletins, memos, alerts, etc.) 
  • Regularly attend worksite kick-off, tailgate, general safety meetings, emergency preparedness drills 
  • Perform verifications & and inspections 
  • Support emergency management systems 
  • Promote proactive reporting and submission of leading/lagging indicators 
  • Directly support the Site Supervisor with incident management, reporting and investigation 
  • Act as Event Manager for all Health & Safety incidents and Near Misses (investigations, notifications, documentation gathering, contractor engagement, corrective actions)
