We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, a growing Midstream EPC Company, has a permanent opportunity for a Senior Scheduler in Midland, TX.

Summary/Objective

Assist in establishing, developing, maintaining and reporting detailed project schedules and work plans. Ensure project planning/scheduling requirements are met for all projects within the Location and provide hands on project planning/scheduling support to required projects across Company Divisions.

Responsibilities
 
  • Establish project planning and scheduling systems and reporting methodology consistent with COMPANY Project Management Process and that are applicable to meet project requirements and disseminate requirements to the Project Planning group personnel
  • Utilize Primavera, P6, to create schedules and manage scheduling across various projects
  • Take ownership of project planning functions within the Location and ensure integrity of the data being processed and the quality of reporting being produced
  • Identify and manage resource and work environment needs for the Project Planning/Scheduling group within the Location
  • Ensure effective coordination and cooperation between other team members that provide planning inputs and scheduling updates
  • Inspire and motivate subordinates and others within the Project Planning/Scheduling group
  • Provide advice and guidance to other project personnel as required
  • Provide project planning input into proposals and bids as required
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other project personnel
Assist in managing the team, including:
  • Inspire and motivate subordinates and others within the Project Planning group
  • Provide advice and guidance to other project personnel as required
  • Anticipate future resource needs and identify and recruit project controls personnel
  • Take ownership of all project planning and scheduling requirements including development of junior planners, co-ordination of all updates, accuracy of information, system management and client and project manager liaison
  • Undertake project roles, as required, to include:
  • Preparation of baseline detail schedules, progress curves, milestones lists and resource profiles
  • Evaluate and report schedule deviations
  • Prepare detailed progress monitoring curves
  • Report progress achieved and provide variation commentary
  • Assist in developing detailed work breakdown structures
  • Participate in vendor/contractor bid reviews
  • Assist in claims evaluation
  • Provide technical guidance to subordinates
  • Liaise with project managers to clarify project planning related issues
  • Prepare and present project planning reports for project management and customer review.
  • Liaise with clients to clarify planning related requirements, reporting purposes and issues
  • Ensure that Location Project Controls Manager is kept informed of personal training requirements.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent certification and/or experience, ideally in Engineering and Construction
  • 5+ years including experience in project planning and scheduling related duties
  • Midstream projects experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 or scheduling software, including project costing modules, is required
  • Extensive experience in Engineering or Construction field experience on small to medium EPC or EPCM projects
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor schedulers and other teams to influence and achieve desired results.
