THE ROLE
I am now seeking an MEP Project Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor to work mainly on a range of utilities projects working as part of a multi disciplinary team.
You will advise on utilities procurement, options and design and you will review and comment on all manner of mechanical and electrical related systems such as lighting (internal, external, street and emergency), power for power generation, HV / LV distribution and small power layouts and schedules, fire alarms, communication systems, lightning protection, boilers, pumps, calorifiers, CHPs and written specifications.
My client is interested in candidates from a Building Services Sub Contractor or from consultants.
You will work on both pre contract and post contract work.
Some experience of managing and undertaking all MEP quantity surveying and contract administration.
There will be plenty of opportunity to move up to a senior M&E QS role.
THE CLIENT
My client is a large firm of multi disciplinary construction consultants providing a range of commercial, project management and engineering for clients in the public and private sectors from offices based worldwide.
They are working on a range of high value projects.
THE CANDIDATE
Ideally you will have a BSc Hons, Diploma or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Engineering and you will have around two to three years or more experience of working on both mechanical and electrical engineering services as a quantity surveyor having worked for a firm of PQS or contractors.
You will report to a Senior QS or Director.
You should have a good overall understanding of all aspects of MEP services and systems.
You will have the opportunity of working on projects across the utilities sector including building services.
You will need to have experience of cost planning, tender documentation, feasibility estimates, value engineering, risk management, post contract management, contract procurement etc.
Salary is very negotiable from £40000 to around £65000 or slightly more plus benefits.
