THE ROLE
I am now seeking an ASSOCIATE QUANTITY SURVEYOR for a firm of PQS to join their Birmingham office.
You must have experience of working for a firm of PQS or multi disciplinary consultants.
Projects are mainly of high value and across many sectors working for high profile clients. Sectors include commercial, residential, education, industrial, manufacturing, public sector and aviation.
This role will offer good opportunities for ambitious Associates who are keen to get involved in doing some business development and networking as well as running projects and to move up to Associate Director.
THE CLIENT
My client is a large firm of construction and engineering consultants offering quantity surveying and project management, building surveying services plus multi disciplinary engineering.
They are a large international firm offering great opportunities to move up within the firm.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be an ASSOCIATE QUANTITY SURVEYOR who has a Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying and you will be MRICS qualified with experience of working for a private practice quantity surveyors or multi disciplinary firm of consultants in the U.K.
You will need to have good pre and post contract experience and be able to do feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans, databases, tenders as well as contract administration and all post contract duties.
You should be able to run your own projects making sure that they are on time and to budget and and be able to provide leadership to more junior team members.
You should have experience of working on high profile projects ideally across a range of building sectors.
You will manage the resources on projects and be able to use management systems / protocols.
You will act as supervisor for curent graduates working towards taking the APC for chartered status.
Ideally you will be keen to assist with developing the Birmingham office and get involved in helping with business development and networking etc.
You will have a stable work record and have worked for a known UK firm.
You will be responsible for a small team and you will report to a Director.
You should be able to develop clients relationships with key client firms.
Salary is very negotiable plus car allowance, pension, discretionary bonus, professional fees etc.
