We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world- wide client base within the oil & gas industry. Our client, a large oil and gas operator, is currently seeking a Business Analyst to be based in Edmonton, AB on a 1 year contract with possibility of extension. Individuals will need to be local to the area as no LOA is provided.
This position does involve occasional travel.
Responsibilities:
• Manages the assessment of suppliers which consists of coordinating schedules and obtaining/disseminating required information to the assessment team; information may include obtaining Quality Manuals, Non-Conformance and Root-Cause information, Financial and Sustainability reports or copies of relevant certifications;
• Administers the Approved Supplier List, providing accurate and timely entry of data as required;
• Develop department processes and procedures for assigned projects and ensures adherence to them;
• Provides training and presentations to internal stakeholders on systems, processes or procedures;
• Provides recommendations to improve department processes and executes upon those recommendations upon management approval;
• Assist in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and subsequent monitoring against targets;
• Provide status updates to stakeholders on their pending supplier requests;
• Acts as a point of contact for intercompany requests involving supplier information;
• Acts as a department representative for assigned intercompany initiatives;
• May conduct commercial assessments of suppliers for listing on the Approved Supplier List and conveys findings to the Supplier Performance Manager and specialists;
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
Scope/Dimensions
Qualifications:
• University degree required (Supply Chain or related field) with 4+ years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of business degree.
• Excellent attention to detail, planning and organizational ability; expected to work with significant independence on standard assignments
• Strong ability to network and build intercompany relationships
• High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio).
• Effective communication skills; listen carefully to others, keep others informed and convey facts and information clearly in written communications.
• Encourage collaboration by relating to people in an open and professional manner while remaining positive and respectful even in difficult situations.
• Demonstrate an awareness of the use of key metrics and measures and shows an understanding of how their area performance contributes to the overall performance of the organization.
• Ability to identify opportunities to increase efficiency, simplicity, and revenue.
• Work productively in the face of ambiguity or uncertainty and readily adapts to different ways of doing things.
Preferred:
• Enrollment or completion of a SCM related professional certification, such as SCMP or ISM, is considered an asset
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent Quality Management Systems
