Senior Deployment Analyst / USA

Travel will be potentially international: Alaska, Azerbaijan, North Sea and Potentially London. 

This position will need knowledge and experience on Procure to Pay and/or Materials Management in SAP. This is a coaching role, for coaching on SAP Procurement and Materials Management. People skills are crucial here. 
 

Senior Deployment Analyst Context:

• The Finance BW initiative is a 4-year programme that will deliver a group-wide data warehouse for client’s financial reporting, providing a single common source of actuals data. Its aim is to deliver a significant increase in the effectiveness of the group reporting processes by improving data integrity, control and transparency, whilst simultaneously increasing the scope of data available. The programme benefits will be realised through a phased rollout of the FBW across the entire client business during 2010 and 2012.

Role Synopsis:

• Deployment is the process by which each business in client will provide their data to the FBW in the new format, whilst simultaneously adopting new working practices around submission, approval and reporting of that data.
• Preparation for FBW deployment will commence in Q4 2009, becoming the primary focus of the programme during 2011 and 2012.
• The deployment itself has been divided into 3 streams, structured through a combination of region, segment & source ledger technology, to bring each business onto FBW and the new Harmonised Data Set (HDS) by the end of 2012.
• Each deployment stream will have a dedicated deployment team reporting into a team lead.
• Each of these deployment teams will comprise a mix of deployment analyst roles.

Role Description:

• The Senior Deployment Analyst will operate as a core member of the FBW deployment teams.
• Reporting to the Deployment Team Lead, they will; apply the central FBW design and generic mappings to the local situation; train and coach local SMEs and users in the principles and usage of FBW; use the central toolkit templates and standards to guide each deployment; drive the local data cleansing and mapping process and facilitate business validation of the resultant data and reporting submissions.

Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will become a core team member of the Finance BW Programme.

Reporting to one of the Deployment Team Leads, the Senior Deployment Analyst will be responsible for:

• Content input to the local pre-deployment planning and engagement activities
• Content input to the detailed deployment activity planning for each target business
• Supporting the global transition to a new consolidation entity structure for the areas in scope
• Carrying out local data cleansing, mapping and validation activities in conjunction with local business resources
• Carrying out local training needs analysis and delivering SME and end user training
• Facilitating validation of the new data submission processes through parallel submission and providing quarter-end post-go live support
• Raising and responding to issues and risks as necessary
• Providing design and content advice and input to the Deployment Team Lead for each of the deployments.

Essential experience & qualifications

• Relevant work experience within a Finance team of a business segment or relevant areas of central Finance or IT functions
• Previous involvement in and experience of systems deployment activities, with an emphasis on data preparation / mapping and user training
• College degree, specialised training or equivalent work experience
• Preferable experience & qualifications
• SAP BW reporting experience
• Previous involvement in and experience of process mapping
• This role will involve significant business travel (25%+).
