Our client is looking for a Construction Manager to lead one of their Bio/Pharma & Chemical projects in Sweden.

Profile

  • To provide leadership for the execution all Engineering Projects at the site
  • New role with initial key accountability to project manage the successful build and refurb of existing. Ensure smooth transition from existing laboratories to new facility
  • Lead the interface between the project, Site Manager, Production Manager and the Site Leadership team.
  • Responsibility for and leadership of budget as required by the business. Support other site and possible group based small and large-scale engineering projects.
  • Forecasting and delivering Capital spend.
  • To deliver projects that are efficient and compliant from both a GMP and EHS standpoint with preventative maintenance and spares processes
  • To liaise with local authorities regarding facility and environment.
  • Work closely with and able to challenge engineering equipment and facility suppliers. Managing their performance as required.
  • Supporting and leading FATs, SATs and validation as required
  • To represent the company in Engineering dialogue with clients

Duties May Include

  • Planning & Scheduling: Using information about activities and deliverable to determine the overall project duration, and when activities and events are scheduled to occur.
  • Project Resource Management: Identifying, securing and assigning resources to activities so that the project is delivered within scope, cost and timescales.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Ensuring budgets are estimated, agreed, tracked and managed properly throughout the life cycle of the project
  • Project Risk and Issue Management: Anticipating, identifying, assessing and addressing potential or actual events and items that may impact positively or negative
  • Project Quality Management: Project quality management is the discipline that is applied to ensure that both the project outputs, and the processes by which the outputs are delivered meet the required stakeholder needs. Be responsible for high standards of equipment and facility design
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Reviewing and reporting on all aspects of project progress through the timely and accurate collection, maintenance and dissemination of project information to stakeholders.
  • Project Review and Evaluation: Conducting regular reviews to check project progress, evaluate achievement of project benefits and capture and disseminate lessons learned.
  • Project Closure: Finalising all project matters, including 'snag' lists, archiving all project information, conducting final project reviews and sharing learning for future use.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering Project Management essential, able to demonstrate strong project disciplines - setting up teams, setting up plans, delivering milestones, effective escalation of issues.
  • Self-starter with a proven engineering experience in a regulated or compliance driven manufacturing environment.
  • Technically proven in the project environment. Strong problem-solving skills in the areas of in mechanical, industrial or chemical engineering.
  • Professionally qualified - mechanical, chemical or process engineer graduate.
  • Engineering Project Management essential, able to demonstrate strong Project disciplines - setting up teams, setting up plans, delivering milestones, effective escalation of issues.
  • Knowledge on GMP, Safety and Quality standards within a Pharma/Food & Beverage environment.
