Well Planning and Delivery Specialist / Saudi Arabia

Position Description

The Eastern Area Exploration Department is seeking a Well Planning and Delivery Specialist to join their world class team. You will be experienced in Exploration, or Development roles that include Well Planning and Operations, and have a successful track record of preparing well prognoses with uncertainties, and securing Management Approvals.

You will have experience in Drilling Engineering, Prospect Generation, Seismic Interpretation, Shallow Hazard, and Seismic Well Ties. In addition to this experience candidates will have an in-depth understanding of rock physics, Image log interpretation, and directional survey planning.

As the successful applicant you will possess Basic log interpretation skills, including GR, Resistivity, Sonic, Density, Caliper, NMR, image logs, mud gas and shows.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will have a Bachelors' degree in Geology, preferably a Masters in Petroleum Geoscience, or similar.

You will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Exploration, or development roles that include Well Planning and Operations.

Preferably, this experience will be with International Operator companies.

Knowledge of Geolog, Petrel, Techlog, and Petrosys is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Create well correlations with confidence and accuracy, have the experience to prepare basic pore pressure forecasts, and be familiar with geomechanical parameters relevant to well planning.

Manage an active drilling program, oversee risk management, and create mitigation plans for drilling activities.

Oversee all well data acquisition programs, including wireline and LWD logging, pressure and fluid sampling, VSP, coring, and SCAL.
