Mechanical Engineer
The purpose of this role is to provide shore based mechanical technical support to the onshore facilities and within the IOSC. The role focuses on maintenance of mechanical equipment along with design/scoping of mechanical projects ready for implementation. The position has a broad coverage of mechanical related activities, and is the focal point for development of consistent maintenance strategies across the field in order to drive facility reliability and hence uptime. |
Drive facility uptime through focus on mechanical equipment maintenance, upgrade and repair and delivery of mechanical projects for implementation Owner of selected Mechanical Specifications including maintenance strategies Contribute to Network of Excellence (NoE) in relevant discipline Provide maintenance support for mechanical equipment Provide delegate Technical Authority assurance in relevant discipline (where appointed)

Strong analytical skills. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with other specialist disciplines to influence change Detailed working knowledge through direct experience working with mechanical equipment in oil and gas processing facility (or equivalent) which includes piping, pressure vessels, valves and utility equipment. Ability to utilise technical expertise to find practical solutions to challenging problems effectively and efficiently A good working knowledge of design procedures, relevant standards and regulations Previous experience of commissioning/support of green or brownfield installations in an Operations and Maintenance support or Construction role Experience in oil and gas, chemical industries or similar with 7-10 years' field/support experience. Experience in significant failure investigation and elimination (including root cause analysis) is required |
