Description
Main responsibilities and reporting:
- Field Engineer shall ensure that the activities and scope for construction within surface protection and insulation is planned, qualified, performed and documented in accordance with the contract specifications and with a high focus on cost efficient construction.
- The Field engineer is reporting to the Construction Lead. Collaboration with the Project Material Lead Engineers for the two projects is expected.
- The Material Lead Engineers are accountable for formal decisions within the discipline (i.a. NCRs, TQs, design issues).
Typical tasks:
- Monitoring of Contractors fabrication activities within topside insulation, surface protection, including coating (paint) systems in atmospheric and submerged zone in addition to rubber coating of risers and riser/caisson guides.
- Monitor that Contractor’s construction and quality control departments follow the required procedures, specification and standards to ensure that all quality requirements are met and that project specifications are implemented throughout construction.
- Monitor work progress against plans and schedules and highlight areas of concern and possible corrective actions
- Participate in engineering and construction reviews to secure feasible and cost-efficient end result in construction
- Ensure that Contractors site personnel are qualified in accordance with project requirements.
- Ensure that Inspection and test plans fulfil requirements and Company witness points are met
- Participate in inspection activities within the discipline in accordance with project specific Inspection and test plan (ITP)
- Plan/Participate in audits / verifications as required.
- Review documentation (procedures, qualifications, reports, drawings), as applicable, before, during and after coating work is commenced.
- Ensure that all required procedure qualifications are performed.
- Provide inputs to decisions within the discipline (i.e NCRs, TQs, design issues)
- Ensure that systems and equipment are protected and preserved
- Ensure that fabrication documentation is issued by Contractor in accordance with requirements.
- Ensure that all required fabrication records are prepared.
- Report deviations and highlight problem areas to Construction lead
- Ensure completion for handover to commissioning.
- Participate in area / system punch out as required and monitor status.
- Ensure that a reliable punch system is in place and continuously followed-up during final phase of construction.
Additional focus areas:
- Continuously be a role model for HSE standards, at all sites
Requirements
- Qualification as Coating inspector to NS476, Inspector level III or certified as NACE coating inspector level III or ICorr inspector level III.
- FROSIO certified insulation inspector
- Minimum 5 years documented experience from similar position in previous projects
- Strong HSE focus
- A strong team player with ability to handle high work load
- Language requirements English
