Civil Project Planner - Solar Farm / Australia

As such we are now seeking an experienced Civil Project Planner for a new Solar Farm project.

Based in Brisbane, this position will be responsible for identifying risks and opportunities, maintaining the budget and relevant approvals, preparing strategies, ensuring the accuracy of all operational requirements and compliance with Environment and Quality management systems, processes and legislative requirements.

The planning manager will also evaluate all system capacity and analyze all production requirement and system deficiencies while monitoring performance to ensure timely action to adjust for variance and contingencies.

We require someone with detailed knowledge of surface works construction methodology to enable the development of a surface works constructions program. You must have an understanding of the global project program and have had interaction with global technical works programs, recognizing and maintaining awareness of the global critical path.

Accountabilities

• Schedule, conduct, and coordinate all assigned engineering work;
• Monitor work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices and standards;
• Responsible for the development and the monitoring of the construction planning program;
• Monitor all construction activities to enable weekly progress reporting;
• Prepare the detailed planning to complete the Project on time and within a budget based on the contract;
• Identify project deliverables, key milestones and workflows to determine the project execution plan;
• Resource and cost loading;
• Prepare risk management reports in order to Sets up alerts for all important contractual and milestone dates along with verification of critical path and interfaces between design/ engineering/ procurement / execution / T&C;
• Monitor progress periodically and compares it with the Baseline, and study the impact of alternative approaches to work;
• Management of main KPIs including Earned value management report;
• Assess the impact of the delay events on Schedules and preparation of the substantiation for Claims and EoT;
• Weekly and monthly reports preparation reporting to the construction management team;
• Development of different level schedules, including Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Installation and prepare progress reports, progress curves, manpower histograms;
• Monitor day to day the work progress status, updates and productivity through daily/weekly and monthly reports paying special attention to monitor the critical activities based on the schedule and advise Site Manager;
• Work closely with Site Manager and Cost controller to monitor time and cost of the Project, preparing updated work program and cash flow curve showing actual progress and identify areas of weakness to establish means and methods for recovery, if any, as well as new critical activities;
• Participate in project meetings and discussions with the Client and subcontractors as required;

About You

• Degree qualified Civil Engineer or similar
• 5-7 years relevant experience in large construction projects, predominantly related to renewable energy
• Competency as a Project Planner on Solar Engineering projects;
• Understanding of programming software, like Primavera P6 or equivalent;
