INSTRUMENT ENGINEER
Ensure safety and timely completion of projects.
Ensure clients Standards, specifications and procedures are followed in the execution of projects.
Ensure cost saving in budgeting and projects are executed within the estimated time frame and cost.
Ensure no damage to any client or other operators' assets and environment in the course of executing projects.
Ensure effective and timely response to technical queries in compliance with set standards, company specifications and safety procedures. Ensure effective design studies for infrastructures produced by contractors.
Technically manage and coordinate the Engineering Frame Agreement.
Carry out studies from pre-project to Detailed & Installation Engineering activities by supervising Design Engineering
Services contractor(s) team of Instrumentation engineers.
Liaise routinely with other engineering disciplines as required, and with other Departments (Production, Procurement, etc.) as required.
Ensure and promote the application of HSE and Safety Engineering rules and international Standards and
project specifications.
Ensure that contractors comply at all times with safety rules, taking actions as required in case of disregards.
Promote safety culture within personnel and contractors as well as reporting of anomalies.
Carry out preliminary and basic facilities engineering studies / design in-house.
Prepare instrument wiring diagram, loop diagrams, data sheets, MTO for flow lines hook up & production facilities.
Prepare requisitions for Instrumentation material procurement and technical bids evaluation.
Specify and carry out necessary technical studies in order to propose robust and optimized technical solutions.
Participate to preparation of scope of work, cost estimates, budgets, and technical dossiers for CFTs packages for
instrumentation related activities.
Participate to offshore instrumentation survey campaigns to ensure technical compliance of the contractors with the
Contract/Frame Agreement.
Participate to the bidder's technical proposals review and prepare technical recommendations accordingly.
Review instrumentation engineering deliverables received from Contractors for Basic /Detailed Engineering.
Review Vendors deliverables, interpret facilities engineering drawings, designs and make necessary recommendations.
Follow-up Purchase Orders of instrumentation equipment to ensure timely approval, conformity of design &
participate in technical reviews and FAT with Vendors.
Interact with Technical Safety, Process, Piping and Mechanical disciplines mainly and interface with Procurement
Dept.
Participate to KOM with contractors, JRA/work permits meetings in liaison with FO entity.
Interface with FO entity for the integration of new instrumentation material in existing facilities and provide trouble
shooting expertise in case of deficiencies of existing equipment.
Report to Electrical & Instrument Lead/TRP on a day to day basis and when decisions impacting E&C activities must
be taken.
Minimum Qualification: B.Sc. in Instrumentation Engineering or any other equivalent discipline.
Recognized expertise in the field of Instrumentation engineering of oil & gas facilities with min. of 10 years' experience.
Minimum 5 years of immediate past professional experience in Instrumentation design engineering for offshore upstream oil and gas industry is mandatory.
Good sense of team spirit, leadership, strong interpersonal & soft communication skills. Fluent in English both verbal
and written.
