Cost Controller
To perform cost estimating and cost control functions in support of all projects as per the directives. The position plays an active role in monitoring the progress of major projects and provides support to business plan, budget, scheduling, analysis and reporting.
- Develop and prepare Project Cost Estimates at various phases of project lifecycle in line with Opportunity Development Process (ODP).
- Develop Cost Breakdown structures for new projects. Assign cost element and allocation as necessary. Prepare cost reports and monitor cost trends.
- Maintain individual project databases of all commitments, expenditures, trends versus progress, budget and forecast.
- Support in preparation of Business Plan and annual budget exercise.
- Work with the business departments to develop projects as well as overall business Key Performance Indicator (KPI) alongside performance tracking reports.
- Consolidate integrated scheduling for major projects and keep stakeholders informed of milestones and issues.
- Develop and improve management information system which provides fit for purpose dashboards and reporting.
- Assist in the evaluation of engineering, construction and other related contracts/tenders and carry out sensitivity analysis as required.
- Assist Project Managers in review and certification of contractor variation requests. Prepare internal Cost Estimates for the variations and ensure variations are aligned to the contract.
- Provide decision making support, data analytics, cost/benefit analysis, capacity planning, market studies, and Technical Authority Group (TAG) reviews.
- Custodian of cost control and cost estimate process.
- Develop Monthly Project Reports for the assigned projects.
- Assist Finance Manager in preparing various presentation, reports and/or
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Engineering Technology Degree strongly preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) preferred.
Experience Profile:
10+ years of relevant experience in project costing, scheduling, estimating and cost control functions.
5+ years Oil and Gas projects experience.
Experience with cost estimating and control guidelines
Competencies/Skills/Others:
Proficiency with Primavera, SAP/Oracle, Word, PowerPoint, and should be an expert in MS Excel.
Familiar with routine cost estimating methods such as quantity surveying, make to Order (MTO) summaries, unit costing, factoring, contingency allotment, total cost validation by analogy.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills, with the versatility to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
Excellent team working and interpersonal skills required.
