The Winder performs miscellaneous operations involving dismantling, rewinding, repairing, reassembling, testing, etc. on large or more complex AC and DC equipment such as motors, generators, turbine generator stator and fields, rotary converters.
Essential Responsibilities:
As the Winder, you will:
- Disassemble large commutators and collector rings assembly s for repair
- Be responsible for on-site rewinding
- Dismantles, assembles, diagnostics and troubleshoots all types of rotating equipment
- Comply with all GE EHS and Quality requirements
- Direct others
- Previous experience of performing testing / inspection; repairs (re-wedge, rewind, and high voltage bushing) of generators in excess of 80 Megawatts
- Previous experience of performing disassembly / reassembly work on large generators in either industrial or utility power plants
- Previous experience with large scale electrical components such as transformers, motors and generators.
- Perform complicated operations involving dismantling, rewinding, repairing, reassembling and testing on large or more complicated AC and DC equipment such as motors, generators, turbine generator stators and fields, rotary converters, transformers, and regulators
- Dismantle and make repairs to large commutators and collector rings
- Perform related duties and direct others as assigned, ensuring safe execution and adherence to EHS & quality control always
- Travel as required to support customer outages
- Hold a full UK Driving Licence
Qualifications/Requirements
- Previous experience of performing testing / inspection; repairs (re-wedge, rewind, and high voltage bushing) of generators in excess of 80 Megawatts
- Previous experience of performing dis assembly / reassembly work on large generators in either industrial or utility power plants
- Previous experience with large scale electrical components such as transformers, motors and generators and the ability to support Electrical testing work
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of 10 years of winding experience
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
- Ability and willingness to travel and complete overnight stays
- Ability and willingness to work nights, as required
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally to outside job sites
- Ability and willingness to work at Nuclear sites
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) & Med-Tec cards required
