Description
- Interface with Alliance delivery partners and their personnel to identify and record how at each stage of the project development process the scope of work is estimated with a clear distinction between what are identified quantities and what is added as allowance for known scope that is yet to be quantified.
- Develop detailed estimating templates which will enable transparency of identified and yet to be identified quantities
- Liaise closely with client`s Benchmarking function to ensure that new estimating templates are in line with plans for automatic recording of estimating data.
- Play a key role in assist with the development and delivery of detailed estimating manuals for each Alliance.
- Work closely with the benchmarking group to ensure that company`s vision of being best in class for benchmarking is facilitated through the estimating methodology.
- Assist with the development and delivery of recommendations centred on risk and reward mechanism for each the Alliance.
- Play an active role in the implementation of the new estimating manuals and associated methodologies within the Alliances.
- Any other cost estimating activities as prescribed by the Project Manager(s) or Estimation Lead.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor degree in the field of Engineering, Economics, Business, IT or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 5yrs experience in project cost estimation position within the oil and gas industry, including a minimum of 3 years as a cost estimator in large construction projects (10yrs if no formal degree qualification is possessed).
Experience
- Have an in-depth understanding of cost estimation and cost control processes from a process biased environment (e.g. oil & gas, petrochemicals, manufacturing or heavy industrial sectors), preferably with both client side and contractor group experience.
- Offshore development project execution methodology and the associated Decision Gate processes.
- Be a proficient user of Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Understand the application and use of detailed Work Breakdown Structure in offshore project development applications.
- Understanding Norwegian estimate classification system and its application.
- Demonstrable understanding of benchmarking and its importance to project cost and schedule estimates and the decision gate process.
- Understanding of common metrics used in the Oil & Gas industry.
