We are pleased to offer the following key contract position: Cost Controller
Work Location: Stavanger
Engagement period: 1 year, with possibility for extension

The main responsibility of this position is to play a key role in delivering a complete suite of cost control and financial support to a Project or a Portfolio of Projects.
Provide advice and services to Project Management and the Business Planning process. Initiate, implement and maintain control systems; to ensure that cost control, KPI, including estimates are executed in accordance with Aker BP standards and processes, and industry best practices.
Implement and maintain the standard project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)/Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), in cooperation with Project Control Lead, planning and estimation.
Ensure accurate and consistent cost tracking during the life cycle of the project. Identify, analyze deviations against project targets, to enable early recognition of potential over/underruns of annul or total budgets and suggest corrective actions to influence outcome.
Participate in cost risk analyses, to support cost forecasting and schedule.
Participate in the development of cost estimates within a project stage, sanction and Project Execution Plan.
Act as a contact with Finance regarding business plan, project budgets, accruals, cash flow requirements, invoice payments, value of work done etc.
Implement Project Cost Control strategy and plans. Resolve issues relating to project cost control.
Provide interface to other functions and teams to improve processes, resolve conflicting priorities and ensure adherence to best project practices.
Work in close cooperation with Contractors to establish routines and reporting that meets the obligations set forth in the contract.
Assist and/or prepare cost performance management data for reporting.
Evaluate and control cost impact of any changes or variations.
Key player in supporting implementation of Project control Systems (PIMS, SAP etc.)
University degree Engineering/Economics. Extensive experience may replace formal education
Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
Technical professional with broad exposure to full life cycle projects in the industry
Experienced in cost and schedule benchmarking
Experience in the development and application of cost and schedule risk analysis procedures and operations
Analytical skills, ability to organize work and meet deadlines.
Anticipates future situations and plans ahead to meet them.
Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.
Hands-on experience using project control systems and procedures support by leading software Applications
Driving continuous improvement, using Lean methodology
Commercially astute with sound understanding of the financial and commercial impact of project and engineering decisions on project attractiveness and performance
Self-starter with a strong delivery focus and excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Team player with ability to interface with and influence a wide range of teams / disciplines
