We currently have a potential opportunity for a Material Coordinator to join our client., a major oil and natural gas company based in Qatar.
The job holder is accountable for the following activities during NWHP01 Jacket EPCI1Project execution:
The Material Controler & SLS is responsible for material management as well as providing guidance and supervision of all aspects of lifting during the construction phase at Contractor's yard
He/she collects all the documents and certification covering the arrival of materials at site and provides for recording of their movements.
He/she supplies the Company Site Representative with elements enabling the feasibility analysis of the construction programs.
He/she will work closely with contractor to improve all aspects of construction lifting activities
To manage information relevant to arrival of materials at site in line with project schedule
To manage the reception, inspection, storage, marking and preservation of materials delivered at Yard
To review material management procedures issued by Contractor
To manage the receiving, check, recording and traceability of material certificates
To issue any supply non-conformities and follow-up the relevant resolution
Ensure establishment by Contractor of quarantine system for defective material
Monitor Contractor consumables stocks
Review manufacturing records books
Ensure all work executed by the construction contractor is carried out in a professional, safe & environmentally friendly manner at all times.
Provide assurance that all lifting activities are performed in accordance with required codes and specifications
Provide effective coaching and motivation to Project and Contractor personnel such that hazards of lifting operations are fully understood and executed safely
Assist in the preparation, review and implementation of risk assessments and method statements for planned lifting activities
Ensure rigorous evaluation of the criticality of each lifting operation at yard and assist Contractor in developing adequate lifting plan
Ensure the correct implementation of the Permit to Work system
Review contractors construction schedules to ensure they include all required activities as lifting planes, realistic timelines, logical sequencing, adequate resources
Ensure Contractors personnel have sufficient training and experience to carry out safe lifting operations
Ensure Contractors lifting equipment and lifting accessories are fully inspected, certified and maintained to a high standard
Interface with other key personnel in the Projects team
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education to HND/BTS level or COMPANY approved equivalent in construction engineering or other relevant subject.
Certification as lifting equipment inspector and crane operator (e.g. ECITB Level 3 NVQ-Moving Loads)
Professional Experience (number of years) : 15.
Experience within project : (number of years) : 10.
A good knowledge of TOTAL General Specifications (GS) and International codes/standards (ISO, API, ASTM and ASME) related to material inspection.
Extensive experience in construction activities within the hydrocarbon industry
Considerable supervisory experience in Rigging and lifting operations.
Good leadership skills and good communication skills.
Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
Be skilled in using computer programs for word processing, database management, spreadsheets and e-mail communications.
Familiar with AUTOCAD and PRODOM.
