I am seeking a PLANNING ENGINEER with good site based planning experience and who is keen to train as a Delay Analyst to do forensic planning for claims, disputes etc. to join a firm in central London.
You will have the opportunity of working in a team based environment on delay and forensic planning for a wide range of project types including rail, buildings, infrastructure, ship building, oil & gas, power etc.

My client is a firm of claims and dispute resolution consultants. They have offices in the UK and work on claims and dispute work on projects in the UK and abroad.
My client works on Claims and Dispute Resolution in the Power Generation, Building, Marine, Civil Engineering and Oil & Gas industries.
You will need to be have worked initially as a Project Engineer / Site Engineer / Civil Engineer or similar – in a site based role to have gained a thorough understanding of site based issues on infrastructure, building or similar. You are likely to have gained around five years or more site based experience before moving in to planning.
You will then need to have gained further experience having moved in to planning and working as a Planning Engineer for two years or more.
It is essential that you understand the problems that can happen on construction sites, whether it be for buildings, rail, roads, power etc.
You will have need to have good IT skills and good experience of using Primavera P6 or similar planning software.
You will need to be interested in moving to doing retrospective planning and learning about all aspects of delay analysis / forensic planning.
My client will also sponsor you to do further qualifications i.e. MSc in Construction Law or similar.
You should have a relevant engineering / construction qualification e.g. HNC / HND / BSc.
You will also become involved in helping with expert reports.
Excellent prospects for an ambitious planner to have a slight change of focus.
Salary is very negotiable according to level of experience but in the region of £60000 to £80000 per annum plus excellent company benefits to include car allowance, pension contribution, health insurance, bonus.
